The Robot

This is our robot's current iteration for the 2024-2025 Vex High Stakes Robotics Competition. In short, our robot utilizes a flipper mech, a mobile goal clamp, and a color sensor. More details regarding the mechanisms can be found below.

The core mechanisms of the robot

The Flipper

The Flipper, inspired by team 16099A Overclock, scores rings on mobile goals and wall stakes. Though the flipper is different from typical scoring mechanisms, we believe the flipper has more potential by scoring 2 rings at a time rather than just 1.

The Mobile Goal Clamp

Our mobile goal clamp, also known as the mogo mech, allows us to control mobile goals by using two pneumatic pistons. The plastic allows us to align with the goalpost consistently. This mechanism is based on team 16610A Snacky Cake's design.

The Color Sensor

The color sensors allow us to detect the ring's color and solely score our team color's rings. For example, if we're on the blue alliance and encounter red rings, the flipper stops early to avoid scoring the red rings.

Alex Wang is in 11th grade and has been on the team for 3 years. He serves as the leading driver, team crash out, and designer.

Tyler Tang

Tyler Tang is in 11th grade and has been on the team for 3 years. He serves as the team's main CAD designer and builder

Nathan George is in 11th grade and has been on the team for 3 years. He serves as the team's main programmer, handling all coding.

Luke Hu is in 12th Grade and has been on the team for 2 years. He serves the team as a builder and game strategist.

Aarav Kevadia

Aarav Kevadia is in 11th grade and has been on the team for 3 years. He serves the team as a wingman and team representative. He has been diagnosed with an unknown disease, and due to this, he has been unable to participate to the fullest extent.
